By: JADE Learning | Apr 26, 2019
In order to remain in good standing as a licensed electrician in Wyoming, you’ll need to renew your license on a regular basis. JADE Learning has all the resources needed to renew your Wyoming electrical license, and we’re prepared to walk you through the 3-step process. Read on for more details.
Renewing Your Electrical License in Wyoming
Step 1: Find your electrical license renewal date.
Electrical licenses in the state of Wyoming must be renewed every 3 years. The deadline for renewal is January 1 for Journeyman electricians and July 1 for Master electricians, every third year.
If you do not recall the year your license was issued, use Wyoming’s public license lookup tool to check.
Step 2: Complete your electrical continuing education.
All Wyoming electricians must complete 16 hours of continuing education every 3 years in order to renew their license. At least 8 of the hours must be dedicated to the current National Electrical Code
JADE Learning offers all of the approved electrical continuing education courses necessary to satisfy those requirements. Choose our 16-hour NEC Changes course to complete all of your required hours with just one course or select from a combination of courses devoted to:
- Commercial and Industrial Wiring
- Installing Services
- Overcurrent Protection
- Residential Wiring
All courses are taught by licensed electricians and NEC experts with decades of experience. Plus, our courses are approved by the Wyoming Department of Fire Prevention and Electrical Safety. We’ve been a trusted provider in Wyoming since 2005.
Most of all, our online courses allow you to renew your Wyoming electrical license on your own terms. You’re free to work on your materials whenever you want. Use a desktop computer, laptop, tablet, or even a smartphone, and stop and start again as often as you wish. Your progress will be saved so you can pick up right where you left off.
Our courses are free to start and you will only pay to get your certificate confirming your completed hours.
Step 3: Renew your Wyoming electrical license.
The Wyoming Electrical Safety Division is adopting an online process for submitting license renewals. You should receive a postcard with detailed instructions in the mail. If your address has recently changed or if you have not yet received your postcard, contact the division to have your information updated or to request a postcard.
When submitting your license renewal application, you will use the online license renewal portal established by the Wyoming Department of Fire Prevention and Electrical Safety.

I am trying to find out if my electrical license (M-16756) has expired and how much it might cost to renew if expired?
Russell,
I would recommend reaching out to the state directly about renewing.
If it is expired, renewal costs may depend on how long it has been expired.
